Today is my last day here. I couldn’t do such a long trip because it is costly to holiday here. But would I holiday here again? Certainly. Scandinavian culture is so refreshing. I think my brain took an exhale here. I just felt calm. Perhaps that’s the objective of a holiday. I remember being in France and feeling racism. But I have never felt any ounce of it here in Scandinavia. I’d say that my favourite place is possibly Stockholm. It isn’t as refined as Copenhagen, there is a certain grunginess to it and the people are incredibly nice and welcoming. I bought a bag from APC and I had such a lovely interaction with the sales associates there. We talked about fashion. And I love it when I can talk about fashion to people who love it. They saw I wore a Loewe shirt and we got talking about Jonathan Anderson and how his Loewe is so amazing. And we talked about the anthurium dresses that are super chic. Love it when people just know what I’m talking about.
So what had happened is that Copenhagen cracked open my heart a bit. Alesund exposed it and made me feel all my emotions. Then Stockholm made me fall in love with myself and the world. Stockholm really has a place in my heart. There’s something about the energy of this city. It’s kinda like Berlin for me. Grungy. Undone. Authentic. I guess that’s how I like people too. Authentic. Real. Soulful.
I’m so glad I decided to travel to Scandinavia. I guess when your soul calls you to travel, you just have to do it.
And Nordic food - I am completely obsessed with it
